It's almost that time of year again...! You know the time (or the month more specifically) that I'm talking about, right? December! A month fullof snow, egg nog, Christmas movies, and of course the Holiday of Christmas itself. But instead of focasing on the Christmas-y things related to the month of December, I am going to focus on other reasons why December rocks:
1) More TIME! I get a whole MONTH off of school starting in mid-December, a month of no classes, no responsibilites and just more time, more time to vedge and dream and sleep in, more time to do the things I wanna do! Go time!
2) Training for a triatholon. That's right, you heard me, during the month of December (and months after that) I'll be busy training for a local triatholon my hometown holds every year in May. I'll be on a team with my Mom and Dad. My Dad will bike, my mom will run and I will swim-20 LAPS! Now, I haven't done that many laps in about a year or two, so this is no easy feat! But with a little training (more like a TON!) and determination, I'll make it to the finish line (if I don't die of exhaustion first, that is)!:P
3) No more NaNoWriMo! I don't know about the rest of you, but I think I'm ready for this month of madness to end. It's been fun and challenging, but it's also been super tough, trying to write everyday, trying to reach a wordcount goal and also trying not to care about how I'm write but rather, how much. I'm kind of a perfectionist when it comes to writing, and I hate writing something that I know is crap. I'm getting better at accepting that npot all my writing has to be perfect, but I miss not being able to write pretty things! I'm ready to be a perfectionist again! Just...not all the time, I promise :)
4) Which brings me to my newest writing endeavor for the month of December, the Secret December Project! (I know, the title is kind of lame, feel free to give suggestions for a more suitable title in the comments!) I want to call it "secret" so as not to give to much away and jinx it all, but you know me, I can never resist a good Teaser Tuesday! So I'll still share some things, just not as much as I normally would. With this project, instead of forcing myself to write eveyday, I'm going to make up a scheduale where I write 3 times a week (in between training for the triatholon) preferably at my favorite local coffee shop with a steamer in my hand. I'm still going to shoot for 50,000 words, but I don't know if I'll get them all down in a month and that's OK. At least I know what to shoot for for my end wordcount! My long tterm goal is to have a completed, (no matter how crappy) first draft by new years day, so we'll see how that goes! Basically the goal is to take the time to write what I love while shooting for a goal and to hopefully achieve what I set out to do, which is to FINISH writing a novel, no matter what! :)

Great, you pick now to tell me that NaNoWriMo is crazy.
Why couldn't you have voiced this opinion a couple of weeks ago?
No, no, by crazy, I mean crazy in a GOOD way! I didn't say it to insult anyone, I just complained about it in this post because I was venting about how hard it is! But you, omg, you have such a high wordcount! KEEP GOING! You'll make it! :D <3
