ROW80: Check-In #3!

So I wasn't sure if I should do this, but I've decided that from now until November 1st (aka the start of NaNoWriMo!) I'm going to temporarily change my goals for ROW80. I've decided to change them because I've become obsessed with reading WRITE YOUR BOOK NOW!: A PROVEN SYSTEM to START AND FINISH THE BOOK YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO WRITE by Gene Perret (the book that I mentioned in my last check-in post) and I really want to finish it soon so that I can apply what I've learned from it to my SNI. Then, once I have a solid outline for my SNI and a flexible writing schedule written up, hopefully in time for the start of NaNo, I'm going to participate in NaNo...but in ROW80 style.

The goal of NaNo is to write a 50, 000 word manuscript in 30 days (November 1-30) by writing 1,167 words everyday. Now I've participated in NaNo three times already and failed miserably each time. This time around though, I'm hoping that by applying what I've learned from WRITE YOUR BOOK NOW and by writing everyday in November like NaNo says but also pulling a ROW80 at the same time and coming up with my own word count goal each day, I can finally be successful and reach THE END while also snagging a WINNER badge at the end of NaNo!

Here are my temporary new goals for ROW80 from now until November 1st:

*Finish reading WRITE YOUR BOOK NOW!
*Apply what I've learned from WYBN to my Shiny New Idea
*Have a plan and be ready to write like a madwoman by November 1st

Sounds easy, right? Ha, I wish! :P

Wish me luck and happy writing!

Sounds like you've got things well in hand. Way to go!

I haven't signed up for NaNo, but I have given myself the deadline of November 30 for the first draft of my children's chapbook...while doing a zillion other things.

I love SNI. What a great shortform!

I wish you well. I look forward to reading many more exciting reports as you prep and participate.
