I've Been Told It's a Girl Thing

Girls like shoes, apparently. Evidently, we spend fortunes on them, and they fill our closets. Some have suggested, they're the reason closets exist.

But I've never gotten it. People keep giving me shoes like, "Here's shoes, haven't I made your day!" And I just hold them like toxic waste and promptly dispose of the evidence at a Salvation Army two towns over as soon as I have the chance.

Then today, as I was combing through Google Images trying to distract myself from all the wheel spinning I've been going through with my Entwined rewrite everything changed.

I found these...

Now, I have a sudden uncontrollable urge to develop an entire fictional universe around a pair of thigh high boots. And pictures like this aren't helping my impulse control.

Am I alone, or is this a pretty standard writer thing. To see something you've never thought twice about and suddenly you have to write about it?

I'm not a shoe person per se, but wow those boots are something else! Unfortunately when I do see something like that it tends to be so expensive that my habit it quickly curtailed. As for seeing something and feeling compelled to write about it-- absolutely!

Yeah, $3,000 boots are easy to write about, but not so easy to own.
