2010 New Year's Resolutions

Well, it's New Year's Eve, and I even though I don't usually do New Year's resolutions I've decided to follow Ella's example and give it a try. Here goes...

Personal:
1. Get my driver's license. I'm from a small town but I go to a college in the city (as in malls, clubs, and bad parts of town), so I figured that having a driver's license will only get me into trouble. However, this year I start my student teaching, so I've got to buckle down and hit the road.

2. Get back in shape. People keep telling me that I already am in shape, and in a sense they're right. The only thing is that I think that there is a difference between being skinny and being fit. I'm skinny, but I've lost all of the definition that I used to have. In 2010 I want to get it back.

3. Finish my book. During November I started writing a fantasy story titles "The Tiger," and now on the last day of 2009 I've written almost 68,000 words and I have only about 5 chapters left. My goal is to finish the rough draft by the end of January and then start polishing it up. The only thing I haven't figured out is what the heck to do with it once it's finished.

4. Work on my self confidence. I may sound confident, but I'm really not. I can stand up for everyone but myself, and I want to change that. Every year I get a little bit more confident in my abilities, and my goal this year is to build on that even more.

5. Be a better sister/aunt. My brothers and their families don't live close to me, and I only get to see them once or twice a year. In 2010 I want to start writing my brothers and my nephew at least once a month.

Professional:

1. Get ready for my internship.

2. Leave the Education Club I run in good standing when I start my internship.

3. Finish all of my pre-internship classes.

4. Buy new clothes for my internship interviews as well as for my internship.
