A Short Story and a Contest!

The No Kiss Blogfest was so much fun yesterday! I loved reading everyone else's entries! Due to the overwhelmingly positive response that I received on my entry, I've decided to fold to your demands and make it into a short story! And of course, I'll post the whole story on the blog for your reading pleasure as soon as it's completed! It's comments like yours that make me want to finish this story just so I can find what will happen next along with the rest of you, so thank you all so much for your support! :)

In other news, I've been watching the amount of followers on the blog increase (thank you for that as well!) and I've decided to say thank you for all your support by...
Holding our first ever contest! If we reach fifty followers, then I'll randomly choose one of you to receive an ARC of "The Dark Divine" by Bree Despain! To receive an extra entry, leave a comment telling me what you think makes an attractive male love interest in YA fiction along with your e-mail address so I can contact you if you win! This contest is only open to people in the U.S., sorry! (I've never held a contest before, so be sure to tell me if I'm doing anything wrong or if the rules don't make sense! Forgive me if they do! :))

So, drink, be merry, and follow/comment! :)

I like characters who are flawed but still swoon-worthy. :) I like them to have their quirks and problems but still be really cool. I like the nice guys - You'd better write a really good bad boy for me to like him, and he'd better be tortured and troubled. (Jace is a perfect example of a bad boy I like.)

Looking forward to seeing your story!

As for male leads...I love them best when they seem a touch vulnerable. Even better when they're a bit rakish with just a hint of vulnerability, an inner sensitivity.

Good luck on hitting your follower goal!

I like guy characters that are a bit mysterious and are much more observant than they seem...like Patrick Verona in 10 Things I Hate About You. If you haven't seen that movie, you should. :) It's fabulous and it's based on Shakesphere's Taming of the Shrew :)

I've seen your comments on the last two blogs I visited, so I had to come check out your blog. Glad I did - loved the excerpt! :-)

I can't wait to read it. I have a particular fondness for short stories.
