March Madness!

I loved reading your guys' comments on my last post! Thank you so much for all of your awesome suggestions! :) With those suggestions and along with some of my own ideas, I think I've decided on the short story I'm going to write for the creative writing contest! I've come up with what I hope is an OK plot for Don't Tempt Me, the temporary title for my short story. Earlier today (or I guess you could say yesterday now since it's already past midnight, lol) I wrote up a quick bulleted list of things I might want to include in the story after I had an awesome flash of inspiration while taking a shower (don't you just love when that happens? You've had writer's block for what feels like forever and then suddenly, as soon as you do something as random as bathing, one idea after another comes crashing into your writerly brain and of course, as luck would have it, since your in the shower, you have nothing to write with!) and it was while I was writing that list that I decided: Tomorrow's the start of a new month, so why not devote that whole month-the deadline for the creative writing contest isn't until April, so it actually works out perfectly!-to working on my short story and see how much I can get written and to see if I can finish it before the deadline?

So, in honor of this new idea to really kick my writing into high gear, I'm dubbing this month March Maddness or The Month of Madness! Because not only have I given myself this new challenge, but I've also got to deal with school (which I'm still not all the way caught up with since my surgury, BOO!), get ready to leave on vacation (my family and I are leaving for Mexico on March 12th(YAY! I cannot wait! Sun, here I come! :)) AND my 21st birthday is on March 23rd (happy birthday to me! :P) Whew! Just looking at that to do list makes me tired! But, I'm confidant that I can do it, I just have to utilize my time correctly. So, in my head (and in a perfect world), this is how the month of March is going to go: school in the mornings, write for 30 minutes in the afternoon (with a timer set. Since I've started taking my creative writing class I've realized that this is a very valuable tool and forces me to crank out a bunch of words in a short space of time. Maybe not very good words, but words nonetheless and I can always edit later on!), continue with school, watch my favorite TV shows (American Idol, Vampire Diaries, Make It Or Break It, etc. As you can see I'm a total TV addict) in the evening, eat dinner and pass out in bed (but not until I watch the BBC version of Robin Hood on Netflix, AKA the best show ever and Jonas Armstrong as Robin Hood is positively yummy! :P)

So yeah, as you can see, I'll have no life for a whole month, but it's worth it! Especially if I can crank out my short story in 31 days! And for your viewing pleasure, here is what Don't Tempt Me is currently about (who knows it, might change completely once I start writing!) in pictures:

A debutante

Chocolate

And werewolves

Sound crazy/strange? I think so too. :) And throughout the month I'll keep you updated on my progress with the story and maybe even post a few teasers to wet your
appitites... :)

So, without further ado, Let March Madness begin!

Not to kill your buzz, but in all of this don't forget about your deal with the universe. Have you decided what you'll do to pay back the universe in either case?

Good luck with your time management! That is the part that always seems to snag me. And, yes, what is going on with you and the universe these days?? lol P.S. I can't believe I'm a whole month and 2 days older than you!! Happy Early Birthday!
