WANTED: Science Fiction Picture Books

The lack of good sci-fi and fantasy books for primary students (K-3rd) is a big talking point among primary teachers. I can tell you from personal experience that trying to get a kid who loves science fiction to reading general fiction book is like trying to take on Darth Vader. It's doable, but it's not pretty and it's not fun.

The problem for me arises from the fact that I am declared writer. As far as I know I have never given any indication of having a burning desire to write children's stories because frankly I have no clue how to do it. However, these are desperate people and it's any port in a storm, so they are currently on a quest to get me to write a science fiction picture book.

I'm not really that into the idea, but I decided to do a little checking just to see if they were being accurate. When I Googled "science fiction picture books" this was the best I could come up with, and they aren't even real!

If this is not an indicator of the grim state of science fiction children's literature then I don't know what it. Bright side when the bar is nonexistent it's kind of hard to do worse, so I just might have to give it a shot.

P.S. If you know of any good science fiction picture books or even science fiction books for primary students please let me know.
